Communication in the era of green transport – challenges and innovations in electromobility
29 May '25

On May 28, another debate from the UrbanTalk #wyznaczamykierunkimiasta series took place, devoted to electromobility and communication in the era of green transport. Experts and invited guests discussed the challenges and opportunities that the development of electromobility brings – both for the residents of Kraków and also in a broader, ecological context.

Experts on the future of green transport

The event participants had the opportunity to listen to the statements of Maciej Piotrkowski from the Public Transport Authority in Kraków, Maciej Fijak – editor-in-chief of SmogLab and representative of the citizens’ group “Akcja Ratunkowa dla Krakowa”, Maciej Płatek – CEO of Electroride, as well as Edward Szczypka – PhD in mathematical sciences in IT and lecturer at WSZiB. Each of the speakers presented their own perspective, presenting practical solutions, infrastructure challenges and directions of green transport development.

The Key to Success? Infrastructure, Innovation and Education

During the debate, it was emphasized that effective implementation of electromobility in cities such as Kraków requires an integrated approach. The key is to combine the development of charging infrastructure, innovative technological solutions, also active involvement of residents and also social education. Only cooperation between different sectors and conscious actions of the community can lead to a real transformation towards sustainable urban transport.

Young people at the forefront of green transformation

The debate was attended by students of WSZiB, students from Zespół Szkół Poligraficzno-Medialnych im. Zenona Klemensiewicza and the Zespół Szkół Ekonomicznych nr 2 im. Ignacego Daszyńskiego. The meeting was conducted by radio and television journalist Aleksandra Wasilewska.

After the discussion part, the participants had the opportunity to test three- and four-wheeled electric vehicles provided by Electroride.

The debate was broadcast live on the WSZiB YouTube channel. More information about green initiatives can be found at: www.wszib.edu.pl/urbantalk.
