On June 11, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of our University at the Kraków Opera. During the ceremonial Gala, there was no shortage of emotion, memories and a unique atmosphere. The academic community, graduates and friends of WSZiB jointly celebrated the three decades of the University’s existence.
The gala ceremony was hosted by the well-known and popular Marcin Prokop, who took care of an exceptional atmosphere – sublime, yet relaxed and full of humor. The event began with jubilee awards, which were presented to Rector Krzysztof Roszczynialski by guests from the world of science, business and local government. Next to the Rector, the Chancellor – Borys Makary PhD also appeared on stage. Both gentlemen transported the invited guests back in time, to the beginnings of the University. There were also memories of Bohdan Makary PhD, Vice-Rector for General Affairs, who talked about how the idea for the University was born, recalling its founder – Professor Włodzimierz Roszczynialski.
The strength of WSZiB is its people – statuettes and musical emotions
Without you, we would not exist. A special moment of the Gala was the presentation of statuettes to people who have supported WSZiB with their work, passion and commitment for years, contributing to the success of the University. Invited guests also had the opportunity to watch a material with the memories of the University’s graduates.
There was no shortage of musical emotions that evening. As a surprise and anniversary gift, a saxophonist appeared on stage and played Andrzej Rosiewicz’s popular Czterdzieści lat minęło. There was also the classic singing of “Happy birthday”. The official part of the Gala was crowned by a unique concert performed by Olga Bończyk, Jacek Wójcicki and the Kraków Opera Orchestra.
WSZiB 30th Anniversary Gala – memories, plans and connecting generations
The Gala was not only an opportunity to reminisce, but also a moment to look into the future, towards the further development of the University. The evening ended in the lobby, where during the banquet students, graduates, staff, employees and the University authorities had some room to meet after many years, take souvenir photos, exchange experiences and memories.
