Regulations for the use of the library of The School of Banking and Management in Cracow

GENERAL REGULATIONS

§ 1.

The library of The School of Banking and Management in Cracow is an academic library founded by the school’s rector to provide library and information services.

§ 2.

The library’s resources are collected, organized and made accessible to the users. The main goal of the library is to collect print and electronic materials from all the areas of knowledge represented in the School of Banking and Management.

§ 3.

Users are obligated to fully familiarize themselves with the Regulations for the use of the library of The School of Banking and Management in Cracow and abide by them.

§ 4.

Using the library is synonymous with the acceptance of the Regulations for the use of the library of The School of Banking and Management in Cracow.

USERS

§ 5.

The library’s resources can be accessed by the following groups:

  • students of The School of Banking and Management in Cracow/li>
  • participants of selected postgraduate study programs and courses at The School of Banking and Management in Cracow
  • faculty and staff of The School of Banking and Management in Cracow
  • other people (only within the reading room)

PROCEDURES

§ 6.

Using the library’s resources is based on an integrated electronic system with the library’s catalogue. Access to the library’s resources is free.

§ 7.

Documents required to access the library’s resources:
students: an electronic student ID
others: a personal ID or an employee ID

BOOK LENDING

§ 8.

Library users are responsible for the condition of borrowed items.

§ 9.

A user who plans to borrow a book should first reserve this book through the library’s catalogue which can be accessed via SUSZI.

§ 10.

The library makes its resources accessible by:
lending them to the users (after they make a reservation)
allowing the users to read them in the reading room (after they provide the item’s catalogue information)

§ 11.

The number of items that may be borrowed by one user at a time:

  • 5 for students and participants of selected postgraduate study programs
  • 10 for faculty members
  • 3 for staff members

§ 12.

Lending period :

  • students and participants of postgraduate study programs – 14 days
  • faculty members – 30 days
  • staff members – 14 days

§ 13.

The user may extend the item’s lending period via their library account during the last 3 days of the regular lending period, provided that no other person has already reserved the item.

§ 14.

After extending the lending period, the user can keep the item for up to 14 more days (counting from the day when the extension is made).

READING ROOM

§ 15.

Users of the reading room can access books from the library’s catalogue as well as some other of the library’s resources.

§ 16.

After providing the name of the author and the title of the publication, the user is handed the publication by the librarian. The user’s library account is then charged.

§ 17.

The reading room’s resources can be accessed only in the room itself. Taking books and magazines out of the reading room is forbidden.

§ 18.

Cell phones and food are not permitted in the reading room.

§ 19.

Personal computers and electronic items are permitted in the reading room, provided that they do not disturb others.

§ 20.

Reading room materials may be photocopied only with a specifically assigned machine located inside the room. Taking pictures with one’s own camera is permitted.

FINES

§ 21.

A user who returns a book after the lending period has ended will have to pay a fine of 5 PLN per item for the first day of delay and 0.50 PLN per item for any additional day of delay.

§ 22.

In the event of damaging or losing a book, the user has the responsibility to:

  • submit an identical book to the library and pay a fine of 15 PLN (plus an additional fine for the delay of the book submission)
  • if it is impossible to submit an identical book, the user has to pay a fine equal to five times the antiquarian value of the book (after a prior consultation with the head of the library)

LIBRARY

§ 23.

The information regarding the library’s opening hours is available in the school’s information systems.

§ 24.

For any comments regarding the functioning of the library the users have to contact the head of the library in writing.
